Transplantation program of centuries -old olive trees by ERGOSE
ERGOSE S.A., as part of the #ECE, implements an innovative initiative to rescue olive trees uprooted from areas where railway works are taking place and which are transported, following strict protocols and transplanted in key locations in municipalities across the country, in collaboration with the Green Fund. Many of these trees are over-aged, ranging from 500 to 1,500 years old, creating small, open-air ‘museums’ of natural history in some places.
