At the 2nd Transport Conference held in Athens from 15-16 May 2018, ERGOSE’s Managing Director Mr. Christos Dionelis presented the issue of coordination of actions for the implementation of the Railway Egnatia.
The projects that are being executed for Railway Egnatia’s construction of various sectors, within the country, as well as the railway lines’s study and construction to the way to Albania, Skopje and Bulgaria, were analyzed.
Special mention was made of the great prospects opened up by the project, which is promoted by Greece and Bulgaria in the European Union, as well as in international investors. The project concerns the creation of a railway route, linking the Aegean Sea with the Black Sea, establishing alternative freight route against the sea route through the Straits of Dardanelles.
Mr. Dionelis particularly mentioned to ERGOSE’s role in the above framework and to company’s readiness to participate in the construction prospects which are opened as the present cycle of major railway projects (the axis Patras-Athens-Thessaloniki-Border) is completed and a new one is opening, with large east-west projects in northern Greece.
