
The project mainly involves the completion and extension of the technical signalling in the greater area of Thessaloniki, thus contributing to the improvement of the safety conditions and the optimization of traffic management in the area.
The project includes the following works:
- upgrading of the Thessaloniki Depot line and construction of new connecting lines, so that is becomes a main line
- signalling, telecommanding in the greater area of the Thessaloniki Railway Station between ΤΧ1 –ΤΧ5
- electrification of the single railway line Axios-Gefira, approximately 4 km long, and completion of the electrification in the area of the Thessaloniki Depot.
- replacement of two existing steel railway bridges with two bridges made of reinforced concrete, at Km 13+316 and Km 14+468 of the railway line Thessaloniki – Platy, in the Sindos area.
